Le Sentinelle: elettrosensibilità in Italia è il titolo del progetto fotografico di
Claudia Gori.

Il suo lavoro, che ha vinto il Premio Miglior Portfolio del Premio Voglino 2018, traduce per visioni sintomatiche una “malattia contemporanea” che non è ancora stata approfondita nemmeno dalla letteratura medica e lo fa con un linguaggio coerente.

“I realized I suffer from ES when I started to loose my sense every time I was in front of the big refridgerators at the supermarket. Since then I travelled around Italy to find a place free from electromagnetic fields, where I could live. In 2013 I built the first wave-free agrocamping in Canino (Lazio), but today we can’t cover the expenses and we’re forced to close it down.” Cristiana in her camping.

August 21st 2017, Rovereto, Italy. Cristina, affected by ES and MCS, wearing the electromagnetic shielding fabrics to protect herself from the electro waves. She lives exiled in her house in Rovereto with her mother-in-law who provide her help and she represents her only connection with the outside world.

In seguito alla diffusione della tecnologia wireless, la popolazione mondiale è oggi esposta in modo massiccio e crescente ai campi elettromagnetici ad alta frequenza emessi da cellulari, cordless, tablet, wifi, ripetitori.
L’OMS stima che sia il 3% della popolazione mondiale a soffrire di ipersensibilità ai campi elettromagnetici.

May 23rd 2017, Rome, Italy. One of the antenna of the transmitting center of Monte Mario in the north of Rome. This is the most ancient radio and television broadcasting station in Italy. In 2016 Codacons launched an allarm for electrosmog in Monte Mario for a massive presence of electromagnetic waves close to the maximum limits permitted by law.

L’elettrosensibilità (EHS) è un insieme di sintomi legati alla presenza e vicinanza a questi campi da parte di alcuni soggetti. Tra i più frequenti ci sono cefalee, insonnia, debolezza, deficit di concentrazione, dolori, eruzioni cutanee, disturbi uditivi, visivi e dell’equilibrio, alterazione
dell’umore.

September 15th, 2017, Vigevano, Italy. “Every night I feel my body trembling. My abdom starts paining and stiffening. Sometimes I’m forced to wrap myself with a blanket made of silver and copper, to protect myself from the electric shocks that cross my body.” Erika, 53 years old, in her house in Vigevano wearing her electromagnetic shielding clothes that she uses to go out.

I numeri in Italia sono allarmanti, si parla di almeno 600 mila casi. L’EHS è strettamente correlata alla Sensibilità Chimica Multipla (MCS), una sindrome immuno-tossica scatenata dall’esposizione ad agenti chimici: circa il 35% delle persone affette da MCS, infatti, sviluppa anche ipersensibilità ai campi elettromagnetici.

Nonostante l’elettrosensibilità non sia una patologia riconosciuta da parte dell’OMS sempre più persone ne soffrono e modificano radicalmente le loro abitudini ripiegando su un isolamento
forzato come unico rimedio al loro stato mentale e fisico.


Queste persone sono chiamate sentinelle perché considerati coloro che sentono adesso ciò che potrebbe diventare un fenomeno sempre più diffuso negli anni a venire.

The Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, a toxic-immune syndrome, is striclty connected to ES. Around 35% of people affected by MCS develops hypersensitivity to electromagnetic fields as well.

Chi è Claudia Gori

Claudia Gori nasce a Prato nel 1986. Si laurea in Editoria e Scrittura (Giornalismo) presso La Sapienza di Roma. Parallelamente inizia a studiare fotografia presso il Centro Sperimentale di Fotografia Adams di Roma. Nel 2014 si diploma in Photo Journalism e Advanced Visual Storytelling presso la Danish School of Media and Journalism in Danimarca. Attualmente lavora come fotografa free lance e porta avanti progetti fotografici di ricerca sociale e psicologica in Italia e all’estero. Le sue immagini sono state pubblicate su testate giornalistiche come CNN Photo Blog, The Wall Street Journal, Grazia Italia, R2 La Repubblica. Nel 2016 è stata nominata per la
Joop Swart Masterclass del World Press Photo. Nel 2017 è tra i finalisti del Premio Pesaresi. Nel 2018 “Le Sentinelle” è esposto al Cortona on the Move ed è tra i finalisti del Sony World Photography Award.
Fa parte di Sedici, un gruppo di fotografi free lance che crea e promuove attività legate alla fotografia contemporanea a Prato.
